Font Friday {Wood Bonnet}

  Well hello there! Happy scorching #Font Friday! It’s only been 239128 days since our last post AND it’s projected to be over 100 degrees in the Washington, DC area today (good times!) Which means it’s only fitting we bring you a scorcher of a font today. And how about the best damn grunge font we’ve seen in a long time!? Yes? Yes! Meet Wood Bonnet Antique No.7 (hello mouthful!) This font is based off real vintage wood type blocks from Switzerland. We are loving the distressed, grungy look which gives any project that lovely vintage feel. And who doesn’t love vintage? Not only is the typeface amazing, the grungy glyphs are out of this world. Seriously does it get any… Read More →

My Bean Book

  Today’s question: how do you document your life? When I first found out I was pregnant, I was thrilled/scared/nervous/excited/overjoyed. Throughout the first trimester, I was very unenthused to document my pregnancy’s trials and tribulations in a journal or Hallmark fill-in-the-blank book (SOOO not my style!) So, weeks went on and I had nothing recorded that I could look back on and remember major milestones of these nine crazy months. One day, I woke up and decided that this was something I needed to be doing, not only for myself so I could remember when fun things started happening, but for my baby and my family as a keepsake to look back on years down the road. Of course the… Read More →

Font Friday {Block}

  Hi friends. A happy Friday, indeed. I’m ready for this week to end. It was action-packed though, with my first ambulance ride earlier in the week. The good news is that I am fine and so is the baby….. but people need to learn how to drive! Sorry for the blog silence this week, but it’s Friday… which means I HAD to do a Font Friday post! And today’s pick is one of my favorites. It’s grungy, but not really grungy. It’s chunky and fun. It can be edgy, works well for kids and all-in-all, fabulous. Meet Block! I love all the various faces since they all feel really different to me. It’s just such a fun font! You… Read More →

Patience My Dear, Patience

  Happy Monday, lovelies! This weekend, I spent a wonderful time at our house in the mountains. Yes, there’s nothing to do, and tons to do all at the same time. It’s definitely what you make of it. It was great to get away with just my Mama and be able to relax, reflect and prepare for the many crazy things that lie ahead (like a baby in 12 weeks!) While we were out and about, there were a couple times when I found myself pressing the magic horn that apparently I thought I had accompanying me on the passenger side of the car. It’s so obvious, when you’re 2.5 hrs. outside of Washington, DC that drivers… well, they do… Read More →
